7 Tips for Troubleshooting Electrical Faults in Servo Hydraulic Systems

Servo hydraulic system faults are often varied, which means that hydraulic system fault diagnosis is a technically difficult task. So how do we troubleshoot electrical faults in hydraulic systems?

(1) Fully understand the fault situation: Before handling the fault, go to the site and ask the operators about the working conditions and abnormal phenomena of the equipment before and after the fault occurred, as well as the location of the fault, and understand whether similar situations have occurred in the past and how they were handled.

(2) On-site test run observation: If the equipment can still operate and the operation with the fault will not expand the scope of the fault, the equipment should be started, the relevant control mechanism should be operated, the fault phenomenon and the changes in the status of each parameter should be observed, and compared and analyzed in conjunction with the information provided by the operator.

(3) Review technical documents: Compare the symptoms of this fault with the "Hydraulic System Working Principle Diagram" and the "Electrical Control Principle Diagram" to understand the composition of the hydraulic system, the location of the fault and the working principle of related parts, the structural performance of hydraulic components and their role and installation location in the servo system. At the same time, review the equipment technical files to see if similar faults have occurred in the past, if any faults that may be related to this fault have occurred, and how they were handled, in order to help in fault diagnosis.

(4) Diagnose the fault: Based on the working principle, combined with the investigation and observation of the phenomenon, make a preliminary fault judgment, and then conduct further inspection and testing based on this judgment to confirm or correct the judgment until the fault is finally diagnosed.

(5) Repair implementation: During the repair implementation stage, based on the actual situation, and adhering to the principle of "external before internal, adjustment before dismantling", specific measures and steps for the repair work should be formulated and the repair should be carried out in an orderly manner.

(6) Summarize experience: After troubleshooting, summarize the useful experience and methods, and find improvement measures to prevent the occurrence of faults.

(7) Record and archive: Record the entire process of the occurrence, judgment, elimination or repair of the servo hydraulic system failure in detail and archive it in the equipment technical file for future reference.
