What types of mold temperature controllers are there?

2026-04-06 07:16:31 · · #1

In the injection molding industry, mold temperature controllers were initially used for temperature control of injection molds. Later, with the development of the machinery industry, their applications became more widespread. Now, mold temperature controllers are generally divided into water temperature controllers and oil temperature controllers, with a temperature control accuracy of ±0.1℃. So what types of mold temperature controllers are there? The following is a sharing from Hongke Machinery Equipment:

The following are types of mold temperature controllers:

1) Based on the type of heat transfer medium used: water temperature controllers and oil temperature controllers. Mainly used in the injection molding and extrusion industries.

2) According to different operating temperatures: ordinary mold temperature controllers and high temperature mold temperature controllers.

The standard type is mainly used in the injection molding and extrusion industries, while the high-temperature type is mainly used for metal forming, such as die casting of aluminum, magnesium, and aluminum-magnesium alloys.

The most common and widely used mold temperature controllers on the market can be divided into two types: water-circulating mold temperature controllers and oil-circulating mold temperature controllers, which are summarized below:

(1) Water-circulating mold temperature controller: It uses clean water as the heat transfer medium and generally adopts the design principle of direct heating and direct cooling. The temperature of mold temperature controllers from general manufacturers is: below 100 degrees Celsius, 120 degrees Celsius, 140 degrees Celsius and 180 degrees Celsius.

(2) Oil-circulating mold temperature controller: It uses a professional industrial oil that is not easily decomposed by high temperature as a heat transfer medium, and adopts the design principle of direct heating and indirect cooling. Generally, manufacturers commonly use four mold temperatures: below 150 degrees Celsius, 180 degrees Celsius, 200 degrees Celsius, and 350 degrees Celsius.

(3) If the manufacturer's water quality is too acidic or alkaline and has too much iron, or if the circulating water is turbid, unclean and has too many impurities, it is not suitable to use a water circulating mold temperature controller.

(4) If the products produced by the manufacturer are transparent or optical mirror products, the gloss of the mold used by the manufacturer may be affected by oil and gas due to the design factors at the time. Therefore, it is not recommended to use an oil circulation mold temperature controller.
