A speed reducer is a transmission device used for low-speed, high-torque transmissions. Its principle is to reduce the speed of a motor , internal combustion engine, or other high-speed power source by meshing a smaller gear on the input shaft with a larger gear on the output shaft. The ratio of the number of teeth on the input and output gears is the transmission ratio. A speed reducer is an independent component consisting of gear drives, worm gear drives, or gear-worm gear drives enclosed in a rigid housing. It is commonly used as a speed reduction transmission device between the driving component and the working machine.
