Traditional screw pump control devices are driven by a two-stage reduction gear system consisting of belts and gearboxes. This results in high mechanical losses, oil leaks, and mechanical failures, leading to low system efficiency, high maintenance costs, and high rigidity during shutdown and reversal, making braking components prone to breakage and posing a safety hazard.

Currently, most oilfields rely on manual well inspections, where workers regularly check equipment operation and record production data. This method inevitably increases the workload for workers, and malfunctions in the pumping unit cannot be detected promptly, hindering effective monitoring, prevention, and control. Taking these factors into consideration, Shandong Liju Electric Machinery Co., Ltd. has specifically researched and developed an intelligent direct drive device for screw pumps.

The intelligent direct drive device for screw pumps consists of two parts: one part is an electrical control cabinet composed of a permanent magnet motor frequency converter without position sensors , an RTU control circuit, and a protection circuit; the other part is a low-speed, high-torque permanent magnet variable frequency synchronous motor.

The low-speed, high-torque permanent magnet variable frequency synchronous motor is optimized in design, with a rotor made of rare-earth permanent magnet material. This gives the motor advantages such as smooth speed regulation, high efficiency and energy saving, low vibration, low noise, and excellent dynamic response characteristics. The system directly drives the oil pump screw pump using this low-speed, high-torque permanent magnet variable frequency synchronous motor, replacing the traditional ground-based drive section of the mechanical screw pump. This eliminates the need for a gearbox and belt drive, avoiding gearbox maintenance, reducing installation space, improving system efficiency, and saving maintenance costs. Simultaneously, the motor seal is moved to the upper part of the motor, making seal maintenance and replacement simple and reliable. The system's control section uses a permanent magnet variable frequency control system for speed control, which can be switched locally or remotely. The RTU remote control terminal can remotely operate the variable frequency control system and perform data acquisition and comparison, adjusting the speed according to site conditions to ensure the system operates at its optimal state. The control cabinet is equipped with power network instruments that can measure three-phase voltage, current, active power, reactive power, power factor, and active and reactive energy, and the measured data can be transmitted remotely via the RTU.
