Abstract: With the continuous development of science and technology, CNC lathes are playing an increasingly important role in the machining of mechanical workpieces. They can effectively control the technical precision of machining activities and are a crucial factor affecting the machining production of mechanical workpieces in my country. This paper analyzes the factors affecting the machining accuracy of CNC lathes and proposes corresponding measures.

Keywords: CNC lathe; machining accuracy; influencing factors

CNC lathes, as an advanced technology in my country's modern mechanical equipment and workpiece manufacturing enterprises, have been widely used in the production process of mechanical equipment, bringing great economic and social benefits to the production and processing of mechanical equipment in my country. Applying CNC lathe technology to the production of mechanical processing can effectively improve the quality of mechanical equipment processing, and it is necessary to do a good job in the precision control of CNC equipment in mechanical processing activities.

I. Working Principle of CNC Lathe

CNC lathes are modern machining equipment with high precision and high production efficiency. They represent a new technology that integrates modern manufacturing techniques with advanced science and technology. CNC lathes are equipped with multi-station turret or power turret structures, enabling them to process a wide range of workpieces, including straight cylindrical parts, curved parts, and threaded parts. The interpolation function of CNC lathes can compensate for limitations in production processes, facilitating the mass production of complex mechanical applications and creating significant economic benefits for machining enterprises. Figure 1 shows the components of a CNC lathe.

Figure 1. Construction of a CNC lathe

The main components of a lathe for machining consist of a grinding wheel, a worktable, a dressing roller, a tailstock, and a tool post. In actual machining processes, CNC lathes can perform technical processing on workpieces, including machining design parameters, technical control language descriptions, and process flow control procedures. These are operated and controlled using a computer-based digital control system. The pre-defined language descriptions are input into the operating program, allowing for computer-controlled management of the entire process and enabling the review and inspection of machined workpieces.

II. Basic Characteristics of CNC Lathe Equipment Characteristics of CNC Machine Tool Equipment

The main features are: (1) the precision of the machining technology is relatively high; (2) it can make full use of various mechanical equipment to realize the machining of various complex mechanical workpieces; (3) in the process of machining mechanical equipment, only CNC technology programs and related parameters are needed.

(4) The equipment has a high level of automation, which can effectively improve work efficiency. (5) The lathe equipment has a high level of technical precision in the production and processing process, which requires technical operators to have good personal qualities.

III. Factors Affecting Machining Accuracy of CNC Lathes

With the continuous development of science and technology, the machining of CNC lathes is mainly controlled by various components. The machining process relies on the inherent mechanical precision of the lathe, and the use of these components significantly impacts the movement of the workpiece. In actual machining, it is necessary to analyze the factors influencing the machining accuracy of CNC lathes. The main influencing factors include:

1. Heat generated during CNC lathe machining can lead to technical errors due to movement; 2. Technical errors inherent in the lathe's machining system itself; 3. Errors caused by wear and tear on the machined parts due to prolonged use; 4. Errors inherent in the operation of the parts.

In the process of machining using modern lathe equipment, machinists need to achieve precise control over the position of the workpiece during its movement. This can be achieved by controlling the ball screw components of the machined parts. If this component experiences transmission errors, it will greatly affect the accuracy of the machined workpiece. The main reason for this phenomenon is that there are certain errors in the positioning of the CNC lathe.

IV. Measures to Improve Machining Accuracy of CNC Lathes

To control the machining accuracy of CNC lathes, it is first necessary to optimize the overall design of the CNC lathe. This requires controlling every component of the CNC lathe and making meticulous designs for each component. The production process of CNC lathe equipment in my country is undergoing significant changes. Currently, with the continuous improvement of the machining technology of mechanical workpieces, the quality of the overall design of machine tool equipment in my country also needs to be continuously improved.

To significantly improve the geometric running accuracy of the bed components of CNC machine tools, my country's CNC machine tool equipment will undoubtedly develop towards higher speed and higher precision in the future. This requires careful design of the machine tool bed base and guide rail structure to ensure their quality. Furthermore, improvements are needed in vibration resistance and the rigidity of the machining process. For example, to reduce errors in application, it is necessary to minimize the geometric error of the cutting tool by selecting metals with high hardness, wear resistance, and high temperature resistance as the material for the tool. A "one-tool-multiple-point" method can be adopted, extending the application of a single cutting tool from one process to multiple different processes. This method can improve the accuracy of workpiece machining and significantly reduce costs. Each tool tip has a different designation; during use, the operator needs to reprogram the CNC lathe, numbering the tool tips and inputting them into the program. During operation, the tool tip can be selected by searching for its number.

In conclusion, with the continuous development of science and technology, the precision requirements of mechanical parts are constantly increasing. The development of CNC lathes needs to adapt to current social development trends and requires strengthening the precision machining capabilities of CNC lathes from various aspects. CNC lathes can process complex products, and their use requires the application of advanced mechanical and automation technologies to improve processing efficiency.
