This reference design uses the Toshiba TMPM375FSDMG dedicated microcontroller for motor drives and the TPD4123AK Intelligent Power Module (IPD) for motor control. This solution employs a vector control algorithm to achieve sensorless variable frequency motor control, utilizing an Arm® Cortex®-M3 core MCU in conjunction with Toshiba's proprietary vector engine to achieve precise control of the range hood. The hardware structure is simple and reliable, while the software uses a vector engine for vector calculations, offering high speed, reliability, and a simple program structure.

In terms of applications, STMicroelectronics' STSPIN motor driver incorporates all the necessary functions to drive with high efficiency and precision, ensuring that every advanced motion profile generator is in operation. This not only reduces the burden on the host microcontroller but also guarantees flexibility and reliability.

Moreover, with a power supply as low as 1.8 volts, the STSPIN motor driver enables motor-powered smart devices to save a significant amount of energy.
