The MACS system provides users with a general system configuration and operation control platform. Application systems need to be configured through engineering workstation software, that is, the modular functional units provided by the general system are combined according to certain logic to form an application system that can complete specific requirements.
After system configuration, the application system's database, control calculation programs, historical database, monitoring flowcharts, and various production management reports will be generated. Below is a brief overview of the system configuration process; the specific steps are as follows:
(1) Preliminary preparations. Before entering the system configuration, the list of measurement points, control operation scheme, and system hardware configuration should be determined first, including the scale of the system, the configuration of I/O units of each station and the allocation of measurement points, etc., and design requirements for flowcharts, reports, historical databases, and memory libraries should also be put forward.
(2) Establish the target project. Before formally configuring the application project, a project name must be defined for the application project. After the target process is established, the data directory of the project is established.
(3) System Configuration Equipment. The hardware configuration of the application system is completed through system configuration software. A graphical approach is used, with each device connected to the system network corresponding to a basic graphic. Before configuring the system equipment, the corresponding project must be created in the central database control.
(4) Database configuration. Database configuration is the process of defining and editing the point information of each station in the system, which is the foundation for the entire application system. There are two types of points in the MACS system. One type is the actual physical measurement point, which exists in the field control station and communication station. The point contains information such as measurement point type, physical address, signal processing and display method. The other type is virtual measurement point, which is different from the actual physical measurement point only in that it does not have information related to the physical location. It can be used in control algorithm configuration and graphical configuration.
(5) Control algorithm configuration. After completing the database configuration, the control algorithm can be configured. The DCS system provides five tools that conform to the IEC1131-3 standard: SFC, ST, FBD, LD and FM.
(6) Graphics and Reports Configuration. Graphics configuration includes background image definition and dynamic point definition. Dynamic points dynamically display their real-time values or historical changes, therefore, dynamic points must correspond to the defined points. By connecting the graphics file to the system, the display and switching of graphics can be realized.
(7) Compilation and Generation. The system's compilation function links together to form a system library, which becomes the basis for the online operating software on the operator station and field control station. The system consists of two parts: a real-time library and a parameter library. The system places all changing data items at all points in the real-time library, while placing all infrequently changing data items at all points in the parameter library. The server contains all the database information, while the field control station only contains the relevant point and scheme page information for that station. This is automatically completed by the download function in the system management after the system is generated.
(8) System Download. After the application system is generated, the system library, graphics, and report files of the application system are downloaded to the server and operator station via the network. The download from the server to the field control station is performed automatically when the field control station starts up. If the field control station finds that the local database version number is inconsistent with the server when it starts up, it will request the server to download the database and scheme pages.
