How does Dongyouda measure the accuracy of linear modules?

A linear module is a mechanical component that transmits linear motion. It has a wide range of applications, is easy to install, and offers high precision. However, a linear module is ultimately just a machine, and the vibrations generated during long-term operation can alter its accuracy. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly monitor whether its accuracy remains within the initially set range. So, how do we measure the accuracy of a linear module?

Method 1: When measuring the accuracy of the linear module, the maximum stroke is used as the reference length, and then the absolute value of the maximum error between the distance moved from the reference position to the actual position and the command value is used as the indicator.

Method 2: Repeated Positioning Accuracy. For any point on the linear module, repeatedly position it in the same direction, then measure its stopping position. Calculate half of the maximum difference in the meter readings as the verification criterion. Then, perform measurements at the center and approximately both ends of the movement distance, taking the maximum value from the verification as the measured value, and marking it as half of the maximum difference (positive or negative).

Method 3: Work parallelism. Place a standard ruler on the platform of a high-quality and durable linear module, and measure the parallelism by the range of movement of the inner slider of the experimental indicator. The maximum difference between the readings within the range of movement of the linear motor is the measured value.

Method 4: To measure the accuracy of the clearance linear module, first feed the inner slider, using the reading on the test indicator when the slider just begins to move as a reference. Using this as a starting point, without relying on the feeding device, apply a load in the same direction as the inner slider's movement using a miniature electric pole. Then, use the difference between the reference value at the initial check and the position upon return as the measured value. The linear module accuracy is checked at the center and approximately both ends of the moving part, and the maximum value obtained is taken as the measured value.

A linear module is an automated mechanical instrument, less flexible than a manual one. Therefore, single-axis robots require careful control over changes in accuracy during practical work, necessitating the use of the methods described above for measuring linear modules. Furthermore, orthogonal robots must select high-quality linear modules to maximize their fundamental accuracy.
