Bagging is a crucial step in product packaging. A wide variety of materials are used, from large bags containing chemical raw materials, grains, feed, cement, and fertilizers, to small bags containing nuts, candied fruits, potato chips, instruction manuals, red envelopes, and books. Based on the degree of mechanization, bagging can be categorized as manual bagging, semi-automatic bagging, and fully automatic bagging.

Semi-automatic bagging

Semi-automatic bagging is based on manual bagging, with the addition of some auxiliary devices, such as pneumatic or mechanical automatic assembly and self-clamping devices installed on the filling port after manual bag picking, opening, and bagging. After filling, the bag is released and the bagged product is sent to the sealing station by the conveyor belt for sealing.

Advantages: It improves bagging efficiency compared to manual bagging and ensures uniform and aesthetically pleasing sealing.

Fully automatic bagging

The fully automatic bagging machine takes the bags out of the storage hopper, opens and clamps them, and sends them to the filling station. After filling, it sends them to the sealing station to seal them. The whole process is completed automatically by the machine without human intervention.

Advantages: The fully automatic bagging machine can assemble products whose length and width are within the allowable range of the equipment, while ensuring bagging efficiency and beautiful sealing.

Bagging machine process flow

1. Color mark detection can be enabled or disabled on the touchscreen. The push rod will only push the item out when both film detection and item detection detect the signal simultaneously.

2. Use electronic cams to efficiently allocate the cycle time of each axis, ensuring seamless connection between the axes.

System Topology

The control unit of the bagging machine uses the Hechuan Q1 motion controller and integrates Hechuan human-machine interface, servo and other products. It uses electronic cam function to make each axis work together perfectly and tightly, and the electronic cam can be automatically switched by setting the length of the item on the touch screen.

1 ) Information layer: Hechuan Q1 controller, which communicates with Hechuan HMI via ModBus TCP to complete the display and setting of data values.

2 ) Control layer: The system uses Hechuan Q1PAC . PAC is the core of the entire system and is responsible for signal, data, electronic cam and logic control processing.

3 ) Drive and execution layer: The Hechuan X3EB-EtherCAT servo and 17-bit motor are used. In synchronous position mode , the minimum synchronous position cycle is 250us . The EtherCAT communication protocol can well meet the synchronous control requirements of the equipment.

Advantages and highlights of the solution

1. Cam switching is performed according to different item sizes. The efficiency is 60-65 items / min for items with a length of 0-200mm , 43-48 items / min for items with a length of 200-290mm , and 30-35 items / min for items with a length of 290-420mm .
