FANUC robot repair and maintenance: To extend equipment life and reduce failure rate, regular maintenance is essential and a crucial part of the safe use of industrial robots. The FANUC robot repair and maintenance process is as follows:
1. Brake Inspection: Before normal operation, the motor brakes of each shaft need to be inspected. The inspection method is as follows:
(1) Move each robot's axis to its load position.
(2) On the robot controller, select the motor mode and turn the switch to the MOTORSOFF position.
(3) Check if the shaft is in its original position. If the robot arm still maintains its position after the power is turned off, it means that the brake is working well.
2. Be aware of the danger of losing the deceleration (250mm/s) function: Do not change the gear ratio or other motion parameters from the computer or teach pendant. This will affect the deceleration (250mm/s) function.
3. Working within the robot's maintenance range: If it is necessary to work within the robot's working range, the following points must be observed:
(1) The mode selection switch on the robot controller must be set to the manual position so that the operating enable device can disconnect the computer or remote control operation.
(2) When the mode selection switch is in the <250mm/s position, the speed is limited to 250mm/s. When entering the work area, the switch is usually in this position. Only those who are very familiar with the robot can use full speed (100% full speed).
(3) Pay attention to the rotating axis of the robot arm, and be careful not to get hair or clothes caught on it. Also, pay attention to other selectable parts or other equipment on the robot arm.
(4) Check the motor brakes of each axis.
4. Safe Use of the Robot Teach Pendant: The enabling device button installed on the teach pendant, when pressed halfway, puts the system in motors-on mode. When the button is released or fully pressed, the system is in motors-off mode. For safe use of the ABB teach pendant, the following principles must be followed: The enabling device button must not be disabled. When programming or debugging, immediately release the enabling device button when the robot does not need to move. When programmers enter a safe area, they must always carry the robot teach pendant with them to prevent others from moving the robot.
Maintenance of the control cabinet includes general cleaning, filter cloth replacement (500 hours), measurement system battery replacement (7000 hours), computer fan unit and servo fan unit replacement (50000 hours), and cooler inspection (monthly). Maintenance intervals depend primarily on environmental conditions, the number of hours the FANUC robot is in use, and the temperature. The machine system's battery is a non-rechargeable, disposable battery that only operates when the external power supply to the control cabinet is disconnected; its lifespan is approximately 7000 hours. Regularly check the controller's heat dissipation, ensuring it is not covered by plastic or other materials, has sufficient clearance around it, is away from heat sources, is free of obstructions on top, and that the cooling fan is functioning normally with no blockages at the fan inlet or outlet. The cooler circuit is generally a maintenance-free, closed system; however, it requires regular inspection and cleaning of all components in the external air circuit. In environments with high humidity, it is necessary to check that the drain outlet drains regularly.
Note: Incorrect operation will damage the sealing ring. To avoid errors, operators should consider the following points:
1) Before changing the lubricating oil, remove the plug from the oil outlet of the Zirui robot.
2) Add oil slowly using a manual oil gun.
3) Avoid using the factory-supplied compressed air as the power source for the oil gun. If it is absolutely necessary, the pressure must be controlled within 75 kgf/cm2 and the flow rate must be controlled within 15 ss.
4) The specified lubricating oil must be used; other lubricating oils will damage the reducer.
