This automated production line is equipped with an intelligent palletizing system that can automatically sort and arrange various types of boxes, classify products through character recognition, and finally transport the products to their destination using collaborative robots and AGVs.

01 Intelligent Palletizing & Fixture Replacement

The HH050 HIT Hyundai robot retrieves boxes of different sizes from various shelves and places them onto pallets. Utilizing a 3D vision recognition system, it optimizes pallet loading efficiency. This is an excellent solution for logistics centers that need to handle large numbers of packages of varying sizes and shapes daily.

After the palletizing operation is completed, the robot will automatically replace and install the grippers for picking and placing, and then place the baskets full of boxes on the slide rails and push them down.

02 HRVision OCR

(Optical Character Recognition)

The HH020 HIT Hyundai robot uses character recognition to identify the characters on the top of boxes and picks them up one by one according to the character order, placing them on a conveyor belt. Utilizing 2D vision recognition technology, the robot can perform character recognition and also identify model names other than barcodes and patterns, making it suitable for a variety of products.

The HH7 small high-speed handling robot from Harbin Institute of Technology utilizes fixed 2D vision to adjust and align the position of individual passing boxes while the conveyor belt is in operation. By leveraging 2D vision technology, positional errors can be reduced, enabling efficient production line operation and management.

03 Conveyor Belt Synchronization

The Delta robot HPK008 picks up and sorts items without stopping the conveyor belt.

04 Collaborative Robots + AGVs

Finally, the collaborative robot YL012 transfers the box to a pallet on top of the AGV and then transports it to the target location. The AGV uses QR code navigation, which ensures high positional accuracy (±10mm) and also makes path changes relatively convenient.

This modern robotics smart factory solution boasts high mobility and adaptability, allowing for layout adjustments based on varying site environments. Employing unmanned production, the robots can begin operation immediately after pre-programming and training, helping businesses reduce labor costs. While the initial investment in robotic production is significant, the long-term benefits outweigh those of manual labor, and product quality is more reliable, minimizing human error-related quality issues.

The key technologies for unmanned factories include not only flexible manufacturing and industrial robot control, but more importantly, overall safety and monitoring technologies. Modern robotic smart factories, by utilizing HRMS (Human Resource Management System), can monitor robot operating status in real time and provide fault warnings. Based on robot operating information and algorithmic statistics, maintenance needs can be predicted in advance. Furthermore, it can easily connect with enterprise ERP, MES (Manufacturing Execution System), and other systems for convenient data collection and management.

A smart factory is a data-driven factory where data from all machines and equipment is transmitted to a control center via a network. By processing and analyzing this data, production lines and equipment can be adjusted in real time. Compared to traditional factories, this improves the availability of production equipment (robots) and increases production efficiency.

With the advent of the Internet of Things and the era of big data, a global industrial revolution has been launched. Among the smart factory solutions offered by various companies, robots are widely used equipment. As South Korea's largest robot manufacturer, Hyundai Robotics has earned the trust of its customers for 37 years thanks to its superior quality and performance. Hyundai Robotics is not only a leading global robot manufacturer but also provides intelligent factory solutions. Through its global service network and professional pre-sales and after-sales support, it helps customers' factories operate smoothly!
