Operating Procedures

1. Inspection and Adjustment

(1) Before operating the straightening machine , a detailed inspection of all parts and the lubrication system must be conducted. The hydraulic system must be checked to ensure it is functioning properly. The oil and gas system and cooling system must be checked to ensure they are in operation. The main drive conditions must be met to ensure good operating condition. No screws in any part should be broken or loose. The cooling system must be ensured to be operating well.

(2) Run the machine empty for 1-2 minutes to check its operation. Ensure that the support roller and the work roller are in close contact and fully rotated.

(3) Before steel is fed into the straightening machine, any foreign objects on its surface must be removed.

(4) Inspect the working rolls, front and rear roller conveyors, and front and rear guard plates of the straightening machine . There should be no scraps, burrs, or other debris that could scratch the steel . If any such debris is found , it should be removed immediately.

(5) Adjust the roller gap of the straightener according to the thickness of the steel material being straightened.

2. Straightening operation requirements.

(1) Understand the shift work plan , adjust the straightener roll gap in a timely manner according to the rolling specifications, pay attention to changes in steel specifications at all times , and strictly prevent accidents caused by incorrect straightening specifications.

(2) Adjusting the pressure under load is absolutely prohibited.

(3) Steel materials must not be skewed when entering the straightening machine . Steel plates with severe scraping, folding, uneven thickness, or burrs from gas cutting are not allowed to enter the straightening machine for straightening.

(4) Double-sheet steel plates or overlapping steel plates are not allowed to enter the straightening machine.

(5) Under normal circumstances , the straightening machine straightens the plate once. If the shape of individual plates is not good, the number of passes can be increased appropriately.

Equipment maintenance and repair requirements

1. Equipment in good working order

(1) The equipment is structurally sound , with all parts complete and connections reliable.

(2) Gear wear in the reducer must not exceed 15% of the tooth thickness, bearing operating temperature must not exceed 60℃, and there should be virtually no oil leakage at the seals.

(3) The seals of each hydraulic cylinder are not worn , and the accuracy of each grade basically meets the specified requirements.

(4) All oil and water pipes are unobstructed and leak-free , with good lubrication and oil quality meeting requirements.

(5) The motor meets the standards for good condition.

(6) The straightening performance meets the design requirements.

(7) The pressure gauge, sensor, and limit switch are complete , flexible, and easy to use.

2. Equipment maintenance and upkeep regulations

(1) Equipment maintenance personnel are familiar with the technical requirements and functions of the equipment and perform regular maintenance on the equipment.

(2) The incoming shift worker must go to the equipment site under their jurisdiction before the shift ends and conduct an on-site inspection of the equipment according to the equipment standards.

(3) The fitter inspects the safety coupling, gearbox, work roll bearings, support roll bearing adjustment system, and pressing system of the straightening machine.

(4) Check that all screws are tight and that the lubrication system is functioning properly.

(5) Operators should check whether the mechanical transmission is flexible and whether the working rollers have any dents or bumps. If so, they should be repaired and ground in time.

(6) Check if the cooling water for the work rolls is normal and if the pressing system is flexible.

(7) The temperature of each bearing was normal , the shaft movement met the standard, the working rollers were straight and not tilted, and the gearbox made no abnormal meshing noise.

(8) All oil pipes were inspected and found to be leak-free.

(9) During production, check the pressure oil pipe and the oil-gas lubrication oil pipe. The pressure is normal and there are no leaks in the oil pipes. If there is a leak, stop the machine for handling.
