Based on its proprietary R&D, production, and technology platform, Turck has for the first time integrated fluid technology into a highly unified product portfolio, launching the new generation FS+ series flow sensors. This represents a consistent expansion of the PS+ pressure sensor product line. Turck China has accumulated over two decades of customer application experience in the Chinese fluid technology field, and its product series balances usability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness for customers.
The FS+ series sensors feature a highly robust stainless steel housing and a translucent front cover, allowing for operation via a wear-free touchpad, much like a smartphone. In addition to flow rate, the FS+ can continuously measure the temperature of the medium. The probe can be installed in any orientation within the pipe. A dual-color 11-segment LED strip displays either flow rate or temperature values as needed. Optimal readability ensures that the sensor body can be rotated and freely displayed within a 340° range, even after installation.
For rapid commissioning, the FS+ series can automatically detect PNP/NPN signals. Users can also set the switching point in seconds using the quick teach function. Thanks to DeltaFlow's monitoring capabilities, all teach functions are only activated when the flow rate is constant, eliminating potential operational errors. The sensors utilize robust materials and a seamless seal concept, meeting IP67 and IP69K protection ratings. This allows the FS+ series to be used in harsh environments, such as reliably monitoring cooling circuits or cleaning processes.
PS+ flow sensor with capacitive touchpad
As another modular product in the Turck FS+ series of flow sensors, the PS+ pressure sensor is robust, durable, and intuitive to operate, enabling reliable measurements. Since its launch, this series has won the prestigious German iF Design Award and boasts outstanding technological advantages. The product series name "Plus" represents two core strengths: simple commissioning and a high level of factory availability assurance.
The PS+ series pressure sensors represent a significant expansion of Turck's existing product range. Designed for quick and straightforward commissioning, these devices offer flexible installation options, intelligent system integration, and an innovative keypad supporting smartphone touch technology. They also offer enhanced resilience to external influences and the effects of challenging applications (pressure spikes). The PS+ series heralds the beginning of extensive future product development, enabling improvements at no additional cost and resulting in even more impressive designs.
The PS+ pressure sensors are particularly easy to configure. They support suspension mounting, and the sensor head can rotate 340°. Upon connection, the sensor automatically records whether the controller or bus requires a PNP or NPN signal, and whether it's a current or voltage signal. The PS+ sensors also have a compatible mode for integration into IO-Link systems. With a user interface featuring a capacitive touchpad and a dual-color digital display, PS+ pressure sensors can be easily configured in plain text (according to Turck or VDMA standards). A locking mechanism is also included to prevent accidental operation.
The fully sealed keyboard offers enhanced resistance to dirt and water, thus meeting IP6K7 and IP69K protection ratings. The PS+ series is designed for a pressure range of 600 bar and offers a choice of a proven ceramic measuring element (PS310) or a metal measuring element (PS510). The latter has an overpressure tolerance of up to 7 times the nominal pressure. A peak pressure limiter can also be optionally installed on the PS+ series sensors.
IO-Link data customization: Wear-free contactless encoder
Turck's three encoder product lines—general purpose, industrial, and professional—help users find encoders for a wide range of applications. With its optimized encoder portfolio, Turck meets a broad range of customer requirements—from price-sensitive encoders to particularly rugged products. Within these three product lines, users can choose from traditional encoders in general purpose or industrial lines, as well as professional line encoders that employ non-contact sensing.
Our general-purpose line includes incremental and absolute multi-turn encoders. These products are suitable for many standard applications, featuring IP64 protection, a radial shaft load capacity of 40 Nm, and a temperature range down to -20°C. Sufficient stock is available for high-volume models to ensure fast delivery.
Industrial line encoders are suitable for specialized applications with higher environmental requirements and higher shaft loads. They offer protection up to IP69K and dual bearing technology. Absolute single-turn encoders also offer extended output types.
Turck's professional-grade encoders, including the QR24 and QR20 encoders which utilize non-contact sensing, feature permanently sealed housings and can operate entirely without contact, making them suitable for harsh outdoor environments. The combination of Turck's non-contact measurement principles offers numerous benefits. The encoder's zero point can be selected upon request—easily set via IO-Link after installation. Encoders can be reliably replaced even by untrained personnel. The machine can operate continuously without the need for parameter resetting, thus eliminating the need for specialized service personnel and associated waiting times.
What other highlights are there?
- Measurement sensor with IO-LINK protocol
Turck's new analog voltage output inductive sensor with IO-Link protocol completes the Turck sensor portfolio. The flexibility of this new analog output inductive sensor offers users a range of different application scenarios.
The sensor features a 12-bit resolution measurement range and offers customers a wide range of functions and parameter options. In addition to freely setting the measurement range, it also allows users to change the switching points in the process data and the physical switching output in SIO mode.
When used as an IO-Link product, the additional diagnostic functions can provide 2 bytes of process data. The temperature display with integrated temperature compensation can issue an alarm when the temperature exceeds the setpoint. Using customizable tags, users can identify which sensor is triggering the alarm. The sensor will also issue an alarm if it goes out of its detection range.
Compact ultrasonic sensor with IO-LINK interface
Turck has expanded its compact ultrasonic sensor series with the addition of IO-Link output models. Users can read process values or set the sensor's detection range via the IO-Link interface. In addition to the known advantages of the IO-Link interface, it also offers low wiring costs, intelligent data storage, and predictive maintenance.
Furthermore, the new RU-U compact IO-Link interface ultrasonic sensor offers a unique silent function. Selected ultrasonic probes can be turned on or off via the IO-Link master station. The ultrasonic sensor can be easily configured for synchronous or multi-channel operation via the controller. The previous method of setting sensor operating modes through complex wiring is now a thing of the past.
The Turck RU series comprises three product lines: compact, standard, and high-end. The three models differ in parameter settings and output methods. All products utilize optimized electronics, resulting in greater detection distances and smaller blind zones. A smooth probe membrane effectively prevents the accumulation of dust and condensation.
