Visual precision dispensing control solution
For planar dispensing applications in orthogonal mechanisms, Advantech offers a one-stop PC-based controller solution, including motion controller hardware and dispensing application software. This solution integrates motion control, vision, and laser height measurement technologies, enabling efficient and precise control of adhesive dispensing onto product surfaces or interiors. Common applications include PCB pin packaging, red glue dispensing, chip underfill, thermal paste application, lens modules, voice coil modules, mobile phone casings, and screen dispensing.
The core of the entire control solution is the dispensing application software provided by Advantech, which has the following main features:
1. Integrates commonly used dispensing process control functions to meet most dispensing application needs.
• The dispensing path supports visual-assisted teaching and DXF graphic import, and supports dispensing path planning methods including dots, lines, arcs, circles, rectangles, arcs, and loops;
• The dispensing program supports modular editing of subroutines, arrays, etc., allowing users to flexibly and conveniently create various dispensing paths quickly;
• In addition, the system supports common process control functions in dispensing applications, such as glue removal, automatic needle calibration, needle cleaning, visual correction, area height compensation, weighing processing compensation, and area NG detection.
2. The control system adopts a flexible configuration to meet various control requirements.
• Configurable dispensing modes: dispensing via dots or lines, suitable for non-contact and contact dispensing with various glue valve controllers;
• Supports integration with multiple mainstream cameras and laser height sensors to achieve high-speed, high-precision dispensing;
• Flexible definition of loading and unloading process actions based on different loading and unloading processes, and rapid connection of upstream and downstream equipment on the production line.
Advantech's Vision Precision Dispensing Control Solution provides a one-stop, complete soft and hard dispensing control solution. The control system integrates commonly used dispensing process control functions and can be flexibly configured to meet various dispensing application needs.
Once the controller is connected to the dispensing equipment, the corresponding dispensing application can be debugged, truly achieving plug-and-play functionality. This approach can help equipment manufacturers quickly implement dispensing projects.
3D Five-Axis Dispensing Control Solution
With the increasing popularity of 3C products such as curved screen mobile phones, smart headphones, smartwatches, and VR glasses, the dispensing process required for the production of these 3C products is becoming more and more complex. Cartesian coordinate type dispensing robotic arms can no longer meet the needs, so we have seen more and more three-dimensional five-axis dispensing equipment appearing on production lines recently.
The 3D five-axis dispensing system controls five axes to achieve spatial trajectory planning, enabling the robotic arm to accurately apply adhesive to the product's spatial trajectory in different postures. Key applications include: dispensing adhesive on the middle frame and side of mobile phones, dispensing adhesive on irregular/curved screens, and dispensing adhesive on various smart wearable products.
Advantech provides dedicated motion controllers for 3D five-axis dispensing control systems. Utilizing five-axis linkage control technology, it can achieve precise dispensing along arbitrary dispensing trajectories within the product space. The main features of this solution are: 1. First, the system provides a flexible and open control platform.
• Provides a complete API for five-axis control for user application development;
• PC-based architecture, which can flexibly integrate vision and laser altimetry technologies to achieve the position calibration, compensation and position picking in various postures required in five-axis applications.
2. Secondly, a five-axis control algorithm is used.
• Employing the RTCP tool center point following algorithm, it can achieve tracking control of various spatial irregular trajectories;
• The algorithm supports the control of various AB-axis rotary table mechanisms. Depending on the mechanical mechanism, corresponding control can be achieved through simple parameter configuration.
• In addition, the algorithm can control the dispensing speed on the workpiece to remain constant during the trajectory-following motion. The trajectory can also be segmented with different processing speeds to meet varying smooth processing requirements. 3. Furthermore, it enables high-precision dispensing control.
By combining early on/off dispensing control, multi-axis comparison triggering, and coordinate transformation of spatial trajectory, users can easily achieve high-precision dispensing control for irregularly shaped products at different speeds.
The demand for 3D five-axis dispensing systems is increasing, and the processes are becoming more complex. Advantech offers motion controllers with five-axis linkage control algorithms, aiming to assist equipment manufacturers in developing high-performance five-axis dispensing systems with their flexible, open, and precise five-axis control features.
