TDK Corporation has introduced the new ERU19, ERU24, and ERU27 (B82559*) series of components, further enriching the EPCOS ERU-SMT power inductor portfolio. Each new series includes more than 10 product types, covering an inductance range from 1.0µH to 30µH, and a saturation current range from 11.5 A DC to 101.5 A DC at 25°C.
One of the key highlights of the new component is its compact size, with a PCB footprint ranging from only 19.9 x 18.5 mm² to 27.8 x 25.8 mm², a 14% reduction compared to the previous model. It also features a low product height ranging from 7.65 mm to 16.9 mm, depending on the model. Furthermore, its compact design based on flat-wire helical winding technology effectively reduces losses.
The new components offer a resistance range of 0.46 mΩ to 17.0 mΩ and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +150°C. They feature a third solder pad on the base, significantly improving mechanical stability during PCB mounting. These components are widely applicable as output and energy storage chokes in various power supply topologies, including point-of-load (POL) converters, DC-DC converters, high-current switch-mode power supplies, inverters in photovoltaic systems, and automotive applications. All components are RoHS compliant and AEC-Q200 certified.
