How to identify a good or bad frequency inverter

Inverters: Nowadays, domestically produced inverters are becoming increasingly mature in performance, with a wide variety of models available. Many brands have been tested by the market, but some disrupt the market through imitation and counterfeiting. A major characteristic of domestic brands is that they resemble both domestic and imported brands. Brands often have similar appearances, with one domestic brand's design closely resembling another, making it difficult to discern the brand's true nature and foundation, and easily leading to incorrect judgments and choices by consumers.

This requires us to have a discerning eye when selecting frequency inverters, carefully observing their external technology and internal capabilities. How to identify a frequency inverter:

Inverters are often perceived primarily through their visual impact, much like mobile phones. A good inverter boasts a novel and unique appearance, with a streamlined body that exudes sophistication. Such a design requires meticulous attention to detail in external design, mold making, and the layout of internal components. In mass production, this significantly increases costs. Generally, imported inverter manufacturers invest heavily in this area.

However, domestic inverter brands lack the resources to invest in these improvements, resulting in their boxy, unrecognizable designs. This necessitates careful observation: what brand of molds are used to make the casing, and are they outdated models? These details reveal the manufacturer's potential. Appearance isn't the most crucial factor, but workmanship reflects a brand's strength; details like casing material and flame retardancy ratings roughly indicate cost. Open the casing to examine the internal circuit board layout. Consider the ergonomics of opening the casing and circuit boards; some inverters cannot be opened or screwed in. How can you open it for maintenance?

The workmanship of the circuit board is readily apparent. Whether it's machine-mounted, whether it has conformal coating, the number of layers, whether there are cold solder joints, and whether copper wires are running back and forth on the board—all these reveal a company's strength in circuit board design and layout. Poor layout can also bring hidden dangers to the inverter. Therefore, check if the inverter module is an imported brand and its current value. These directly affect the inverter's lifespan and capacitors. Sufficient production capacity depends on whether the brand is a major player. These factors also affect the inverter's performance. Examine the inverter's airflow. A reasonable airflow design can greatly improve the inverter's heat dissipation capacity. Otherwise, the inverter will easily fail frequently.

A relatively direct method for testing the quality of inverter software is to add a load test. Low-frequency, high-torque testing is a direct and effective way to test the inverter algorithm. After changing the parameters, modulate the inverter within 5Hz and observe whether the load motor torque decreases. Also, observe whether the motor speed is uniform, check the inverter's output waveform for quality, and perform frequent short-term starts and stops to observe the peak current and voltage. These methods can test the inverter software's performance.
