In the field of low-voltage frequency converter applications, low-voltage frequency converters have been used in various industries in my country, such as metallurgy, chemical industry, papermaking, and machinery. Common application areas of low-voltage frequency converters are as follows:
1. Fan
With the continuous development of industry, the application of fans is becoming increasingly widespread, especially in the chemical, stone, and textile industries. However, the design of fans often involves issues related to airflow. When airflow needs adjustment, throttling, i.e., damper adjustment, is commonly used, resulting in unnecessary losses. Using variable frequency speed control allows for convenient adjustment according to actual needs. By eliminating unnecessary losses and improving the power factor, the overall energy saving rate is over 30%.
2. Speed regulating machinery
Machinery requiring speed regulation, such as extruders, material feed regulators, and conveyor belts, typically uses slip-ring motors, three-phase commutator motors, or DC motors for speed control. However, these speed-regulating motors suffer from poor speed regulation performance, poor speed stability, high failure rates, and low efficiency. Furthermore, DC motors and commutator motors have complex structures, high failure rates, and high maintenance costs; they also generate sparks during operation, posing a significant safety hazard. Replacing these types of motors with asynchronous motors equipped with frequency converters can greatly improve efficiency, save electricity, reduce maintenance, enhance safety and reliability, and shorten the investment payback period, thus significantly improving the economic benefits for enterprises.
Low-voltage frequency converters have a wider range of applications, including small-scale applications such as blowers, conveyors, feeders, mixers, grinders, crushers, paper cutters, calenders, extruders, valves, compressors, cooling treads, plastic machinery, elevators, and various textile industries; and large-scale applications such as paper machines in paper mills, injection molding machines in mold factories, rolling mills in metallurgical plants, and fans, pumps, cranes, and oil pipelines in chemical industries.
