Advantages of Cartesian coordinate robots
1. Arbitrarily combinable into various styles: Each linear motion axis has a maximum length of 6 m, and its load capacity ranges from 10 kg to 200 kg. In practical applications, there are nearly a hundred types of Cartesian coordinate robots, and these structures can be arbitrarily combined into new structures, etc.
2. Extra-large stroke: Because the length of a single gantry linear motion unit is 6 m, and multiple units can be easily cascaded to form an extra-large stroke, its working space is almost unlimited. From small mobile phone dispensing machines to large cutting machines with a stroke of 18 m, linear guides and rack and pinion transmission methods are used for extra-large strokes.
3. High load capacity: The load of a single linear motion unit is typically less than 200 kg. However, when using a rigid connection of double or multiple sliders, the load capacity can be increased by 5 to 10 times. When two or four linear motion units are connected side by side, the load capacity can be increased by 2 to 4 times. When using a multi-unit, multi-slider structure, the load capacity can be increased to several tons.
4. High dynamic characteristics: Under light load, its maximum operating speed can reach 5 m/s, and its acceleration can reach 4 m/s². This gives it very high dynamic characteristics and extremely high working efficiency, typically completing a work cycle within a few seconds.
5. High precision: Depending on the transmission method and configuration, its repeatability can reach 0.05mm to 0.01mm throughout the entire stroke.
6. Strong scalability: The structure can be easily changed or adapted to new applications through programming.
7. Simple and economical: Compared with articulated robots, Cartesian coordinate robots are not only more intuitive in appearance and have lower construction costs, but also simpler to program, similar to CNC milling machines. They are easy to train employees and maintain, making them very economical.
8. Long lifespan: The maintenance of Cartesian coordinate robots usually involves periodic lubrication, and their lifespan is generally more than 10 years, and can reach 20 years if properly maintained.
