What are the applications of microrobots?
1. Microrobots can operate at the atomic level. For example, surgeons can remotely control microrobots to perform millimeter-level retinal surgery, removing elastic retina or individual pathological cells under eye movement conditions, and reconnecting severed nerves; they can travel through the patient's body or blood vessels, killing cancer cells immediately upon discovery and scraping away fat deposits on the aorta; and they can insert microrobot endoscopes into the stomach for a comprehensive examination.
2. Microrobots can also be used in precision manufacturing, such as to produce computer memory chips with larger storage capacity and "ultra-surface grinders" with extremely high processing precision. The operational capabilities of microrobots have reached the molecular and atomic level, far exceeding the ability of an artist to paint on a strand of hair.

The application of microrobot technology can make various aerospace measurements lighter and more compact, household appliances such as tape recorders smaller and more versatile, and television screens larger and thinner, with the brightness of each point on the screen directly and automatically controlled by microrobots. Microrobots will also revolutionize mechanics.
4. The applications of micro and ultra-micro robots are very broad, including navigation, agriculture, communications, aerospace, home use, and healthcare. For example, dropping thousands of micro robots to chew on shellfish and moss on the bottom of ships can save energy; scattering thousands of micro robots in farmland to kill pests can reduce agricultural damage and improve harvests; flying micro robots carrying humidity meters and infrared sensors can fly over fields, and when drought is detected, they can land on irrigation system valves, transmit drought information to sensors, open valves, and irrigate the farmland in precise quantities.
5. Miniature robots can carry cameras and miniature optical fibers to enter places inaccessible to humans to observe the environment and store or transmit images. When an underground cable breaks, tens of thousands of miniature robots can crawl along the cable, and when they reach the break, they can place their "hands" on the end of the cable, thus becoming a connecting wire and remaining permanently on the cable.
6. Miniature robots can clean and repair space telescopes, inspect spacecraft heat shields, and de-ice aircraft fuselages. If a large number of flying miniature robots are deployed on other planets, they can send back various necessary information.
