Precautions and replacement methods for parts of a benchtop low-speed centrifuge

The centrifugal separation technology of benchtop low-speed centrifuges is a new technology developed based on the state of particles in a practical centrifugal environment. Particles of different densities, sizes, or shapes settle in different centrifugal environments, resulting in a generally spherical, non-homogeneous mixture that can be separated by centrifugation. Centrifuges are designed for further research in biochemistry and for separating large quantities of substances.

The benchtop low-speed centrifuge uses a brushless DC motor and is controlled by a microcomputer. It features automatic RCF calculation and setting, multiple program protections, easy operation, and automatic balancing function.

Precautions and replacement of parts for benchtop low-speed centrifuges:

1. If the main power indicator light is not on, check whether the indicator light fuse and the indoor distribution board fuse are blown. Also check whether the power cord is making good contact. If the fuse is blown, replace the fuse and ensure that the circuit is unobstructed.

2. An oxide layer on the commutator surface, or even an uneven surface caused by burning, or a mismatch between the brush and the outer edge of the commutator, can also cause a decrease in rotational speed. The commutator and brushes should be cleaned to ensure good contact.

3. When the main power indicator light is on, check the wear of the carbon brushes. If more than one-third of the carbon brushes are worn, replace them with new ones.

4. If the bearing is damaged or its rotation is obstructed, or if there is insufficient oil or excessive dirt inside the bearing, causing increased frictional resistance and preventing the motor from reaching its rated speed, the bearing should be cleaned or replaced promptly.

5. The vacuum pump gauge and oil pressure readings should also be checked. If the oil pressure is too high and the main unit cannot start, it is necessary to check whether each oil circuit is blocked, especially whether the throttling orifice is unobstructed. If it is not unobstructed, it should be cleaned to make it unobstructed.

6. If there is a short circuit or open circuit in the rotor coil, it can be checked with a multimeter. The coil should be rewound for a benchtop low-speed centrifuge. During use, the rotor may be damaged due to metal fatigue, overspeed, overstress, chemical corrosion, improper selection, rotor imbalance during use, and temperature runaway, which may lead to centrifuge tube rupture, sample leakage, and rotor damage.
