What are the activation methods for lithium iron phosphate battery packs in electric vehicles?

Unlike older nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries, lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries for electric vehicles don't require activation. Once fully charged, they can be used normally. Furthermore, LFP batteries can be charged whenever needed, unlike NiMH batteries which must be completely depleted before recharging. In fact, LFP batteries in electric vehicles don't require any special activation methods; they activate naturally while the vehicle is in motion. Because LFP batteries have no memory effect, they can be charged at any time. Therefore, it's beneficial to develop the habit of charging them promptly after use, which can extend battery life by 3-5 times.

The first activation method is to find a set of electric vehicle lithium iron phosphate batteries of the same model as the original battery, and connect them in parallel with this set of unchargeable batteries. Let the good batteries discharge to the unchargeable batteries. After several cycles of parallel charging, there is a certain chance that the batteries can be reactivated.

The second activation method is to first charge the lithium-ion battery pack with a smaller charger, and then switch back to the original charger. For example, if the battery that cannot be charged is 60V, you can first charge it with a 48V charger, and then switch back to the original 60V charger. This method also has a certain chance of activating the battery.

The third activation method is to try fast charging for one to two hours and use a professional tester to check if the voltage has increased. If it has increased, you can choose to continue charging with the original charger. This will activate the lithium-ion battery of the electric vehicle.
