Correct charging method for lithium iron phosphate battery packs
● It is recommended to use the CCCV charging method for lithium iron phosphate battery packs, which means constant current followed by constant voltage. The recommended constant current is 0.3C, and the recommended constant voltage is 3.65V. That is, charge at 0.3C during the constant current phase, and once the battery voltage reaches 3.65V, use a constant voltage of 3.65V. Stop charging when the charging current drops below 0.1C (or 0.05C), indicating the battery is fully charged.
● The charger for lithium iron phosphate battery packs is different from that for ordinary lithium-ion batteries. The maximum termination charging voltage for lithium-ion batteries is 4.2 volts; for lithium iron phosphate battery packs, it is 3.65 volts. When charging a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, a balance charging board is connected to a ribbon cable, and the entire pack is typically charged directly in series from both ends. The charger voltage is higher than the battery pack voltage.
● The ideal charging temperature for lithium-ion battery packs is between 0-45℃. This temperature range is more conducive to the activity of the chemical properties within the lithium-ion battery pack, resulting in higher charging efficiency.
●When you receive a lithium iron phosphate battery pack and want to use it, you need to charge it first. Lithium-ion batteries should not be overcharged during storage, as this will cause significant capacity loss. Therefore, these charging precautions are quite useful during the use of lithium-ion battery packs.
● Considering that the inconsistency between battery packs will gradually increase when a single cell is charged in series, in order to ensure battery life, the only way is to reduce the utilization rate of the lithium-ion battery pack and perform equal charging. As an effective way to reduce the inconsistency of battery pack characteristics, it can balance the characteristics of the batteries, thereby improving the utilization rate of the iron phosphate battery pack and significantly extending the battery life.
