①Large capacity: A single lithium-ion battery cell has a capacity of at least 1200mAh, and can even reach 3600mAh, while a typical battery cell only has around 500mAh;
② High energy storage efficiency and good stability: It can maintain full performance output even in an environment of 70°C, and it usually has internal protection circuits to prevent the battery from burning out;
③ Virtually no memory effect: No need to completely discharge the remaining battery before charging; it can be charged and discharged at any time, making it convenient to use.
④ High charge-discharge cycle life: Lithium-ion batteries can withstand tens of thousands of cycles and have excellent high-temperature resistance;
⑤ Environmentally friendly and free of toxic substances: non-toxic, harmless, pollution-free, and RoHS certified.
Lithium-ion batteries are generally not used in isolation, but rather in multiple units together, which we often call battery cells. These batteries are commonly found in everyday life, such as in laptop batteries, power banks, digital electronics, wireless printers, portable products, walkie-talkies, and POS machines. Currently, many of these batteries have a capacity of around 2200mAh.
Below is the specification table for Sanyo brand lithium-ion batteries. Generally, better batteries have four important protection functions:
① Overcharge protection: When a lithium-ion battery is overcharged, the internal temperature of the battery will continue to rise. A new battery voltage detection system has been added. When the overcharge voltage reaches a certain value or time period, the overcharge function will activate and automatically stop charging to protect the battery.
② Over-discharge protection: Over-discharge occurs when the battery is in a state of continuous overload output. Generally, there is discharge protection, and the battery will enter standby mode at this time;
③ Overcurrent protection: This overcurrent protection value is adjustable, and some are several amperes. Select the setting according to the actual situation.
④ Short circuit protection: When the battery is short-circuited, the overcurrent protection function protects the battery from burning out.
In addition to these four protection functions, some also have temperature and equalization functions. The battery generally has a built-in PCM protection system with multiple protection functions.
