However, rather than calling them the three main components, it's more accurate to say they represent the three core technologies of new energy vehicles. Unlike the three main components of gasoline-powered vehicles, they are: motor, battery, and electronic control system. Today, I'll give you a brief introduction to these three technologies of new energy vehicles.

motor

Those familiar with new energy vehicles are likely familiar with electric motors, which are essentially equivalent to the engine in a gasoline car, providing the power for the vehicle's movement. In addition to providing propulsion, the motor can also act like a generator, converting the vehicle's kinetic energy into electrical energy and storing it in the battery pack – the most common feature of new energy vehicles is "kinetic energy recovery."

Battery

The battery is also easy to understand; its function is similar to the fuel tank in a traditional gasoline car—a device for storing energy. However, the battery packs in new energy vehicles are significantly heavier than the fuel tanks in traditional gasoline cars. Furthermore, battery packs are not as easy to "care for" as traditional fuel tanks. Battery packs in new energy vehicles have always been a source of criticism; they need to maintain efficient operation while also ensuring their lifespan. Therefore, this depends on each automaker's technological capabilities in battery pack design.

Electrical control system

Some people mistakenly believe that the electronic control system (ECU) in a traditional gasoline-powered vehicle is the same as the ECU in a gasoline-powered car. This isn't entirely accurate. In new energy vehicles, the ECU acts as a "manager," combining most of the functions found in the ECU of a traditional gasoline-powered car. Almost the entire electronic control system of a vehicle is managed by the ECU, making it a crucial component in new energy vehicles.
