State Grid has built a 100kWh demonstration project of a cascaded lithium manganese oxide battery energy storage system in Daxing, Beijing, and a 1MWh demonstration project of a cascaded lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system in Zhangbei. It has also established a technical platform for sorting and evaluating retired batteries, formulated technical specifications for battery grouping, and developed an efficient and reliable battery management system.
Beijing Jiangxin has developed a cascaded photovoltaic energy storage system and built a big data-based evaluation system for power battery packs (groups). Beijing Pride has collaborated with BAIC and others to implement energy storage power station projects and containerized energy storage projects, with a cumulative cascaded utilization of approximately 75MWh.
China Tower has implemented the application of cascaded battery backup power in approximately 120,000 base stations across 31 provinces and municipalities nationwide, and has made breakthroughs in a number of key technologies for cascaded utilization, such as battery pack assembly and comprehensive capacity evaluation.
Companies like Shenzhen BYD and Guoxuan High-Tech are utilizing retired power batteries to produce second-hand batteries for backup power applications. Wuxi GEM and SF Express are exploring the use of second-hand batteries in urban logistics vehicles, while companies like Zhongtian Hongli are promoting the application of second-hand batteries in sanitation and sightseeing vehicles through a "lease-to-own" model.
