Main features of photovoltaic microinverters
1. Safety: Traditional centralized inverters or string inverters typically have DC voltages of several hundred or even thousands of volts, which are prone to fire and difficult to extinguish once started. Micro-inverters, on the other hand, have DC voltages of only tens of volts, and all are connected in parallel, minimizing safety hazards.
2. Intelligent: Component-level monitoring, the working status of each component can be seen in the ECU.
3. Increased power generation: The module-level MPPT eliminates the bottleneck effect, reducing the impact of shading on power generation; it also has good low-light performance because of its low starting voltage of only 20V, allowing it to operate even in low-light conditions.
4. Long lifespan: Microinverters are typically designed for a lifespan of 25 years, while traditional inverters have a lifespan of 10 years.
5. Convenient and aesthetically pleasing: No special power distribution room is required. The micro inverter can be directly installed behind the module or on the bracket. Because it is a parallel structure, it can be directly installed when the scale is increased later without changing the previous configuration.
Microinverter technology proposes to integrate the inverter directly with a single photovoltaic module, equipping each photovoltaic module with an inverter module that has AC-DC conversion and maximum power point tracking functions, so that the electrical energy generated by the photovoltaic module can be directly converted into AC power for use by AC loads or transmitted to the grid.
If one solar panel malfunctions, the entire system will be affected. The other solar panels will operate at their optimal performance, resulting in higher overall system efficiency and greater power generation.
