Recently, a new Huawei patent related to lithium batteries was published on the SooPAT patent website.
The patent is titled "Lithium-ion battery current collector, electrode and lithium-ion battery and its preparation method and application of lithium-ion battery".
According to SooPAT patent website, Huawei's invention discloses a lithium battery current collector and its preparation method, a lithium battery electrode and its preparation method, a lithium battery and its preparation method, and its application.
The lithium battery current collector includes a porous current collector body, in which a lithium source material is filled or/and deposited, wherein the lithium source material is lithium metal or/and lithium-rich material.
Both the lithium battery electrode and the lithium battery contain this lithium battery current collector. This lithium battery current collector allows the lithium source material to be effectively fixed within the current collector body. During electrochemical activation, the lithium battery electrode containing this current collector enables the lithium ions in the lithium source material to be converted into lithium ions, which are then completely absorbed by the positive electrode active material in the positive electrode layer or the negative electrode active material in the negative electrode layer. This compensates for the lithium ions lost during the initial charge/discharge process, thereby reducing irreversible capacity.
Therefore, this lithium battery has high initial coulombic efficiency and capacity, as well as safety performance.
