Mild hybrid electric vehicles only receive an auxiliary push from the electric motor during vehicle start-up and rapid acceleration; plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, on the other hand, can achieve multiple driving modes, including pure electric driving, hybrid electric driving, and engine direct drive.
2. Different vehicle usage costs
Although mild hybrid electric vehicles are equipped with a 48V mild hybrid electric vehicle system, their fuel consumption and maintenance costs are basically the same as those of ordinary gasoline vehicles. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, on the other hand, can be refueled or charged, and their fuel consumption is relatively lower for daily driving. If charging facilities are available, the daily operating costs of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles will be much lower than those of mild hybrid electric vehicles.
3. Different overall driving range
Currently available mild hybrid electric vehicles have a maximum actual range of only 700 kilometers when fully fueled; while many plug-in hybrid electric vehicles can achieve a combined range of over 1,000 kilometers when fully fueled and charged, meaning a full tank of gas can last for about a month.
4. Different prices
Currently, most vehicles equipped with 48V mild hybrid electric vehicle systems are luxury brand models like those from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi, with an average price of over 300,000 yuan, making them quite expensive. In contrast, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are relatively affordable, with the cheapest models costing only 120,000 to 130,000 yuan, and most models falling within the 150,000 to 200,000 yuan price range.
5. Different license plates
Mild hybrid electric vehicles are still considered gasoline vehicles and can only be registered with blue license plates; while plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are new energy vehicles and can be registered with green license plates. In addition to being exempt from purchase tax and enjoying new energy subsidies, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles do not need to worry about traffic restrictions or purchase restrictions in some cities with traffic restrictions, making daily use more convenient.
