The movement speed or movement amount of the positioning object (workpiece) is set by using pulse frequency and pulse number.
Positioning basic shapes
1. Basic Unit (Transistor Output)
The FX3G, FX3U, FX3GC, and FX3UC programmable controllers have built-in positioning functions.
The general output (Y000~Y002) outputs a pulse train with a maximum frequency of 100kHz in open collector mode, which can simultaneously control 3-axis * 1 servo motor or stepper motor.
2. Special adapter
The special adapter uses the positioning function built into the FX3U programmable controller to output a pulse train of differential linear drive up to 200kHz, which can simultaneously control 4-axis servo motors or stepper motors.
The FX3U programmable controller can connect to up to two high-speed output special adapters (FX3U-2HSY-ADP).
• The first FX3U-2HSY-ADP unit uses Y000, Y004, Y001, and Y005.
• The second FX3U-2HSY-ADP uses Y002, Y006, Y003, and Y007.
3. Special Function Modules/Units
The FX3U and FX3UC programmable controllers can be connected to special function modules/units for positioning control.
In addition, special function units can also perform positioning control independently.
1) Composition of the FX3U Programmable Controller
Up to eight special function modules/units can be connected to the FX3U programmable controller.
2). Composition of the FX3UC Programmable Controller
Up to 8*1 special function modules/units can be connected to the FX3UC programmable controller.
When connecting special function modules/units, FX2NC-CNV-IF or FX3UC-1PS-5V is required.
*1. When connected to FX3UC-32MT-LT(-2), a maximum of 7 units can be connected.
*2. When connecting to FX3UC-32MT-LT(-2), start with No.1.
3) Run independently (FX2N-10GM, FX2N-20GM)
Special function units (FX2N-10GM, FX2N-20GM) can operate independently without being connected to the programmable controller.
• The FX2N-10GM can control a servo motor or stepper motor on one axis.
• The FX2N-20GM can control 2-axis servo motors or stepper motors. Furthermore, it offers expandable I/O (up to 48 points).
