Lithium-ion power battery tabs, as the name suggests, are the tabs used on power batteries, and their specifications, dimensions, and current carrying capacity are very large.
A tab is a component of a pouch lithium-ion battery. A battery has a positive and a negative electrode, and the tab is the metal conductor that leads the positive and negative electrodes out of the cell. Simply put, the tabs on the positive and negative electrodes are the contact points during charging and discharging. The positive electrode uses aluminum, and the negative electrode uses nickel. Some negative electrodes also use copper-plated nickel; all are composed of a film and a metal strip.
The tab includes a tab metal strip. One end of the tab metal strip is connected to the electrode inside the packaging bag made of aluminum-plastic packaging film, and the other end extends to the outside of the packaging bag opening. A section of the tab metal strip at the packaging bag opening is covered by a film-like polymer composite material. A layer of liquid adhesive is also applied at the junction of the tab metal strip, the polymer composite material covering, and the packaging bag. This adhesive can be applied to the outside or inside of the packaging bag opening, or both simultaneously. After the liquid adhesive cures, it forms a cured film.
Characteristics of the pole ear
1. Taking the mechanism that causes cell gas expansion and leakage as the research focus, the developed metal strip has a special corrosion-resistant coating on its surface. At the same time, the imported CPP adhesive and the CPP layer of the aluminum film have good heat-sealing performance, which effectively solves the problems of gas expansion and leakage at the tab.

4. The high melting point of the insulation layer effectively prevents short circuits between the insulation layer and the aluminum-plastic film/aluminum foil.
5. The tabs, made from imported materials and processed with special techniques, are highly corrosion-resistant, leak-proof, and have stable electrical conductivity.
