I. Correct Charging Methods for Electric Vehicles

Using the correct charging method for electric vehicles can extend the lifespan of their batteries. So how exactly do you do this?

1. When charging your electric vehicle, first plug in the charger's output plug, and then plug in the AC power input plug.

2. After the vehicle is fully charged, first unplug the AC power cord, and then unplug the charger's output cord.

3. Under normal circumstances, over-discharging and over-charging of batteries are harmful. Therefore, charge them frequently and avoid over-discharging. The lifespan of an electric vehicle's power battery is greatly related to its depth of discharge. Lead-acid batteries, in particular, should not be left uncharged for extended periods. Therefore, to extend the lifespan of an electric vehicle, it is essential to maintain the power battery properly and charge it correctly.

II. Precautions for charging electric vehicles

1. Do not unplug the charging gun while it is charging.

Because there are still relatively few electric vehicle charging stations, there is a serious problem of people queuing in front of them. Some car owners, in their haste, unplug the charging gun while it's still plugged in. This not only damages the car battery but also harms the charging station. So even if you're in a hurry, please wait until the charging gun stops working before unplugging it.

2. Do not charge using the connected cable.

With limited shared charging stations and long queues of cars waiting to charge, coupled with some residential areas prohibiting the installation of private charging stations, many car owners are forced to run long charging pads from their homes and use their own car chargers. However, this practice is extremely dangerous and can easily cause short circuits, leading to car fires.

3. Turn off the car headlights while charging.

Remember to turn off your car headlights while charging, as the headlights draw power from the electric vehicle's battery, not the car's main battery. Forgetting to turn off the headlights means you won't be able to drive even with a full battery, because without battery voltage, the engine won't start.

4. Do not charge your device while the air conditioner is on.

Turning on the air conditioner while charging is similar to using your phone while charging; it can easily affect battery activity and thus reduce battery life.
