An industrial control computer (IPC) is defined as an industrial control computer, also known as an industrial PC or industrial computer. In simple terms, it is a computer designed for industrial environments.
I. Main Structure of an IPC Industrial Computer
1. The all-steel chassis of the IPC industrial computer is designed according to international standards, and has good resistance to impact, magnetic field interference and vibration.
2. The industrial control computer is equipped with a passive backplane compatible with PC-bus. This passive backplane has multiple slots for ISA and PCI buses. The number and location of the ISA or PCI slots can be selected according to needs. The board has a four-layer structure, with the middle two layers being the ground and power layers, respectively. This structure reduces mutual interference between logic signals on the board and lowers power impedance. The backplane can accommodate various cards, including CPU cards, graphics cards, control cards, and I/O cards.
3. The industrial power supply adopts AT/ATX switching power supply, with a mean time between failures (MTBF) of up to 250,000 hours.
4. There are various types of CPU cards for IPCs. According to size, they can be divided into long cards and half-length cards. According to processor, they can be divided into 386, 486, 586, PII, PIII, and P4 motherboards. Users can choose any combination according to their needs.
II. Technical characteristics of IPC industrial control computers:
