What is an absolute encoder?

The absolute encoder can still provide absolute position after several revolutions and resets when not in use. Multi-translation devices include internal transmission equipment to provide the best solution for users. The main interface is BISS-C or SSI. For some devices, latency at certain positions can be challenging.

Each specific location, determined by the position of the mechanical equipment, is unique. It doesn't need to be memorized, doesn't need to find reference points, and doesn't need to be constantly counted. If you want to know the exact location, you need to download it, which is why the encoder's anti-interference capabilities and data reliability are greatly improved.

Absolute encoders use natural or cyclic binary (Gray code) for photoelectric conversion. The difference between absolute encoders and incremental encoders lies in the board illumination and pattern. Absolute encoders have several codes used to identify absolute position. The encoding design can be acceptable binary code, cyclic code, binary code, etc.

What are the functional characteristics of an absolute encoder?

1. The international standard for the CANopen protocol;

2. The absolute value of the angle coordinate can be read directly;

3. No memory required, no reference point search required, and power-off functionality includes memory functionality;

4. Can be rotated multiple times, up to 30 bits, detachable modular bus device, convenient address setting and interface;

5. The highest protection rating is IP68, and the operating temperature is -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for complete long-term applications and underwater operations;

6. The bearing structure with a safety lock prevents large, high-quality bearing components from failing due to high axial loads during operation and installation;

7. Location data will not be lost during a power outage. However, resolution is determined by the number of bits in the binary system. In other words, accuracy depends on the number of digits. Currently, there are 10 and 14 seats.

The materials used for the housing of absolute encoders offer numerous advantages. Absolute encoders exhibit superior performance in terms of strength control and corrosion resistance. These excellent material properties are fundamental to the environmental adaptability of the equipment. When selecting a suitable absolute encoder, users can choose appropriate machinery based on the material composition of the equipment.

Absolute sensor technology. Direct drive, no degrees of freedom for mechanical equipment, easy installation, suitable for demanding environments such as metallurgy, machinery manufacturing, mining, steel rolling, new energy, and chemical industries.
