A painting robot, also known as a spray painting robot, is an industrial robot that can automatically spray paint or apply other coatings. A painting robot mainly consists of a robot body, a computer, and a corresponding control system. Hydraulically driven painting robots also include hydraulic oil sources, such as oil pumps, oil tanks, and motors.
The main advantages of paint spraying robots:
1. Good flexibility.
(1) Large radius of activity and good flexibility.
(2) It can achieve spraying of both the inner and outer surfaces.
(3) It can realize the mixed production of multiple vehicle types, such as the mixed production of sedan, station wagon and pickup truck bodies.
2. Improve coating quality and material utilization rate.
(1) The contour spraying trajectory is accurate, which improves the uniformity of the coating and other appearance spraying quality.
(2) Reduce the amount of overspray and cleaning solvent used to improve material utilization.
3. Easy to operate and maintain.
(1) Offline programming is possible, which greatly shortens the on-site debugging time.
(2) The plug-in structure and modular design enable quick installation and replacement of components, greatly shortening maintenance time.
(3) All components are easily accessible for maintenance and are convenient to maintain.
4. High equipment utilization rate.
(1) The utilization rate of reciprocating automatic spraying machines is generally only 40%-60%, while the utilization rate of spraying robots can reach 90%-95%.
More advanced painting robots employ flexible wrists that can bend and rotate in all directions, mimicking the movements of a human wrist. This allows them to easily insert into workpieces through small orifices to spray their inner surfaces. Painting robots are generally hydraulically driven, featuring high speed and explosion-proof performance. Teaching can be achieved through manual instruction or point-to-point display. Painting robots are widely used in automotive, instrumentation, electrical appliance, and enamelware manufacturing processes.
