Previously, when discussing why lithium-ion batteries are suitable for UPS applications, we only briefly described some of their advantages. Now, let's take a more detailed look at how lithium-ion batteries are superior to lead-acid batteries.
range
Because lithium-ion battery packs weigh only 30% of ordinary lead-acid batteries, they have a longer range under the same voltage and capacity.
Cycle life
Lithium-ion batteries, when charged and discharged at a 1C rate, have a cycle life of ≥500 cycles, and their capacity at the 500th cycle is greater than 70% of the nominal capacity. In contrast, ordinary lead-acid batteries, even when discharged at 0.5C and charged at 0.15C, have a cycle life of ≤350 cycles and a capacity of ≤60%.
Specific energy
Because lithium-ion batteries are only 30% the size of ordinary lead-acid batteries, they have a larger energy storage capacity than ordinary lead-acid batteries when using the same space.
Green and environmentally friendly performance
Compared to ordinary lead-acid batteries, which contain large amounts of lead, a heavy metal harmful to human health and the environment, lithium-ion batteries are highly environmentally friendly products.
Lithium-ion batteries, as energy storage batteries, can meet all the requirements of UPS. Moreover, compared with lead-acid batteries, which have long been used as energy storage batteries for UPS, lithium-ion battery UPS can better meet the needs of users in terms of performance. Therefore, lithium-ion batteries are suitable for UPS.
