I. What is a lithium-ion battery pack?

A lithium-ion battery pack refers to a system of lithium-ion batteries connected in series or parallel to meet a specific requirement. Lithium-ion battery packs have high energy density, are pollution-free, and have a wide range of applications. However, they are not without their drawbacks; drops, impacts, bending, and other factors can all degrade the performance of lithium-ion battery packs.

Lithium-ion battery packs, also known as lithium-ion battery modules, are high-voltage and high-capacity lithium-ion battery packs created by connecting 3.7V lithium-ion cells in series and parallel, according to the requirements of various industrial customers. "High-capacity lithium-ion battery" is a common term used to describe lithium-ion battery packs with relatively large capacities; there is no specific agreed-upon definition of a high-voltage or high-capacity lithium-ion battery. According to our statistics, lithium-ion battery packs with a capacity of 5Ah or higher can generally be called high-capacity lithium-ion batteries.

Power lithium-ion batteries are used in packs, and each lithium-ion battery requires protection against overvoltage during charging, undervoltage during discharging, overcurrent, and short circuit. The charging process must also ensure balanced charging of the entire pack. A lithium-ion battery pack refers to a system that connects lithium-ion batteries in series or parallel to meet specific needs. Many people, either to save money or out of personal interest, choose to build their own lithium-ion battery packs.

A good lithium-ion battery protection board is essential. The protection board is the core component of a lithium-ion battery pack. A good protection board can effectively protect each cell in the lithium-ion battery pack from overcharging and over-discharging, and can also ensure that each cell is fully charged, preventing the phenomenon where some cells are fully charged while others are still far from being fully charged.

Lithium-ion battery pack assembly process

II. What precautions should be taken during the assembly of lithium-ion battery packs?

Friendly reminder: The assembly process of lithium-ion battery packs is very strict and complex. This is just a brief introduction! When assembling lithium-ion battery packs yourself, you must strictly follow the standard technology for production and assembly, and you cannot be negligent in the slightest.

Step 1: Slurry preparation. The powdered positive and negative electrode active materials are mixed separately with specialized solvents and binders, and then stirred at high speed until homogeneous to form a slurry of positive and negative electrode materials.

Step 2: Coating. The prepared sauce is evenly coated onto the surface of the metal foil, dried, and used to make positive and negative electrode sheets.

Step 3: Assembly. The positive electrode plate, separator, negative electrode plate, and separator are arranged from top to bottom and wound to form the battery core. After processes such as electrolyte injection and sealing, the battery assembly process is complete, producing a finished battery.

Step 4: Formation. The finished batteries are tested using specialized battery charging and discharging equipment. Each battery is inspected, and qualified finished batteries are selected for shipment.
