Ultra-high transparency in vehicle bodies is becoming the mainstream design for new energy vehicles. Larger windshields and sunroofs are increasingly taking up a larger proportion of the vehicle body, and the quality of curved glass installation directly affects the vehicle's quality and appearance. The newly released Baumer OXM200/OXP200 sensors ensure extremely stable installation of automotive glass, making them the hidden mastermind behind the styling of new energy vehicles.
The "stylist" of the vehicle's exterior
Applying adhesive is a crucial process before installing automotive windshields. The quality of the adhesive application determines whether problems such as detachment or leakage will occur during vehicle use. Even adhesive application not only controls production costs but also ensures a better seal for the assembled vehicle.
In practical assembly applications, the OXM200 performs excellently, achieving superb measurement results as long as the measurement is within the laser coverage area of the OXM200 sensor.
By monitoring data such as the height and width of the adhesive application in real time, it can determine whether there is any adhesive breakage during the installation process. It can also directly determine the pass rate based on the height of the adhesive strip, and finally output a pass/fail signal through I/O.
Furthermore, the OXP200 sensor, a family version of the OXM200, can directly output 600 point source data. Based on the point source data, more three-dimensional data can be obtained, and the width and height of the adhesive strip can be calculated more accurately. With this more detailed information, the adhesive application quality can be controlled in real time, ensuring that the car's appearance remains "undistorted," making it a true "stylist" for vehicles.
Many versions available, choose freely
As part of Baumer's family of intelligent contour sensors, the OX200 series enables efficient global scanning contour analysis, making its application virtually limitless in terms of fields and industries. The OXP200 and OXM200 versions each have their own unique features:
01. The OXP200 features a further optimized design, allowing it to be integrated into image processing systems. It also provides a free software development kit (SDK) that allows for parameter adjustments based on specific application requirements.
02. The OX200 version integrates a series of measurement functions, allowing operators to perform efficient online or offline inspections without needing extensive image processing expertise.
03. Its compact size is a characteristic of its family series, and it can achieve linkage positioning with robotic arms. It has an IP65 protection rating, which further enhances its range of applicable applications in the field.
Aesthetics & cost reduction: the best of both worlds
This excellent design and global scanning measurement method not only make the OXM200 series products a veritable "stylist" in the automotive manufacturing field, but also contribute to energy conservation and cost reduction for enterprises due to improved manufacturing precision and yield rates—truly achieving the best of both worlds.
Its global scanning measurement method allows it to be deployed in a variety of fields and industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, automotive assembly, electronics manufacturing, metal processing, and more. Especially in high-paced and repetitive processes, using the Baumer OX200 will significantly improve a company's production processes, helping to control production costs and ensure stable, high-quality product output.
