In daily use of a robotic vacuum cleaner, pay special attention to the following aspects to extend battery life and maintain the performance of the smart robotic vacuum cleaner's battery:
1. Keep your robot vacuum cleaner clean. If the side brushes and roller brushes of your robot vacuum cleaner have too much hair and debris stuck to them, it will consume more power and require a larger driving current, which is very bad for the battery. Frequent cleaning is one of the important ways to ensure battery performance.
2. Every three months, allow your robot vacuum to completely discharge its battery. Nickel-metal hydride batteries have a relatively low memory effect. To counteract this, it is recommended to completely discharge the battery once every three months: Do not connect the charging dock to the power source. When the battery is low, the robot vacuum will not find the charging dock and will continue to discharge until the battery is completely depleted. Once the battery is completely depleted, please recharge it as soon as possible; otherwise, the battery capacity will be damaged. Remember this!
3. Remove the battery when the device is not in use for an extended period.
Even when not in use, robotic vacuum cleaners will still consume a small amount of battery power. Therefore, if you don't plan to use the robot vacuum for several weeks or longer, ensure the battery is fully charged before removing it and storing it in a cool, dry place. When you need to use it again, simply insert the battery and fully charge it. Due to the self-discharge characteristics of nickel-metal hydride batteries, the battery capacity will gradually decrease. Ensure the battery is fully charged at least every 3 months; otherwise, the battery may be over-discharged and rendered unusable.
4. Due to the characteristics of nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries used in automatic intelligent sweeping robots, it is necessary to frequently discharge and use the batteries to ensure their high performance. The most important point in maintaining battery performance is to ensure that the batteries are used frequently.
5. Ensure proper cooling while charging: When the robot vacuum is charging, place it and its charging dock on a flat, sturdy surface to aid in heat dissipation. Do not place the charging robot vacuum on heavy carpets, and ensure there is sufficient space around the charging dock. Store the robot vacuum in a dry, shaded area, avoiding direct sunlight and keeping it away from heat sources such as heating appliances and hot air vents.
6. When not in use, ensure the charging base is powered on. Most smart robot vacuums support automatic charging and come with a charging base. Please ensure the robot vacuum is on the charging base. If a charging base is not available, please keep the robot vacuum powered on. Following these usage precautions will effectively extend the robot vacuum's battery life and prevent various unnecessary problems.
