Industrial robot end effector classification

A robot end effector refers to any tool that is attached to the edge (joint) of a robot and has a specific function. This may include robot grippers, robot tool changers, robot collision sensors, robot rotary connectors, robot pressure tools, compliance devices, robot paint guns, robot deburring tools, robot arc welding torches, robot electric welding torches, and so on. Robot end effectors are generally considered peripherals of robots, robot accessories, robot tools, and end-effectors (EOAs).

Structural classification

1. Based on finger movement, it can be divided into translational and rotary types;

2. According to the mechanical clamping method, it can be divided into external clamping type and internal support type;

3. According to the mechanical structure characteristics, they can be classified into electric (electromagnetic), hydraulic and pneumatic types, as well as combinations thereof.
