Besides monitoring, another key task of the BMS is to ensure the consistency of battery cells within the battery pack, which is known as the "balancing" function. Since the individual battery cells in a battery pack may exhibit inconsistent behavior during charging and discharging, failure to balance them could lead to some cells being overcharged or over-discharged, thus affecting the overall performance and lifespan of the battery pack.
