An industrial PC is a computer specifically designed for industrial control, typically used in fields such as machinery, electrical engineering, and automation. Compared to home computers, industrial PCs are more stable and reliable, and have better anti-interference capabilities. Accessing the start screen is a very basic operation when using an industrial PC, and we will explain in detail how to do so below.
Prerequisites for entering the start screen
Before entering the start screen, you must first complete the connection and assembly of the industrial computer hardware, install the system software, and confirm that all related tasks, including hardware connection, software installation, and system configuration, are completed. Only after these prerequisites are met can you proceed to enter the start screen.
Steps to enter the start screen
Turn on the power
The industrial computer's power switch needs to be turned on, as shown in the picture below:
Press the power button
You need to press the power button on the industrial computer host for the industrial computer to start. Normally, the power button is a small round button or a long, rectangular switch.
Bootloader loading
After pressing the power button, the industrial control machine will begin self-testing and initialization. At this time, some diagnostic information will appear on the screen, and the system will perform a series of self-tests and fault diagnoses. If everything is normal, a startup screen will be displayed.
Enter the interface and select the menu
After the startup screen appears, the user needs to press F8 or F12 to enter the boot menu. Some computers may require pressing other keys to enter the menu (such as F11 or Esc). At this point, the "BIOS Setup Interface" or "Boot Menu Interface" may appear. The user needs to find the boot options in this interface and then select "Boot from Hard Drive".
Enter the start screen
After selecting "Boot from hard drive," the industrial PC will boot its operating system and enter the start screen. In the start screen, users can perform various operations, such as opening applications, viewing files, and modifying settings.
Accessing the start screen is a fundamental operation when operating an industrial PC. Mastering this method can help us use the PC more effectively and improve work efficiency. However, the specific procedures may vary slightly between different industrial PCs, and users need to adapt them accordingly based on their individual needs.
