Methods to extend the life of lithium-ion batteries in portable power banks

Portable power banks, also known as mobile phone battery chargers, are power sources for mobile devices. They use polymer batteries as storage units, which are safer and more durable than typical lithium-ion batteries. They can charge or provide standby power for mobile phones, electronic products, and digital devices anytime, anywhere. They can be used on buses, on campus, on subways, in the mountains, outdoors, for travel, and other leisure activities. They are safe, energy-efficient, and will not damage your phone. So, how can you extend the lifespan of your mobile phone's battery? This is a popular topic.

The power bank and battery of a mobile phone are the same; improper use can easily affect their lifespan. Here are some points to note:

First, please do not put your power bank in a bag to charge your phone, because the sealed bag is not ventilated and has poor heat dissipation, which will cause the power bank and phone to overheat, making them age faster and potentially damaging them. It is recommended to place them in a well-ventilated area, such as an air-conditioned environment.

Secondly, there are two ways to charge the power bank itself: one is to plug it into the USB port of a computer, and the other is to plug it into a household power outlet. Because the adapter cable of the power bank has a limited length, please do not plug it into a wall socket (hanging it will damage the power bank). It is recommended to plug the power bank into a multi-functional clamp circuit socket for charging!

Several methods to extend the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries:

1. There is no need to fully charge a lithium-ion battery, let alone deplete it completely. When possible, keep the battery close to half-full. The smaller the charge/discharge range, the better.

2. The design of the Chevrolet Volt requires the battery to maintain 20% to 80% charge. Apple's built-in battery can also use the same method (as do some other batteries and electronic products) to increase the battery's charge and discharge cycles.

3. Do not use lithium-ion batteries (especially laptop lithium-ion batteries) for extended periods while using external power. Even if your laptop has excellent cooling, 100% charge over a long period is equivalent to the capacity of a lithium-ion battery.
