The United States is one of the world's largest egg producers, producing over 100 billion eggs annually. The industry comprises large-scale commercial egg farms and small family farms, collectively producing and selling a wide variety of egg types, including white, brown, organic, free-range, cage-free, and specialty eggs rich in omega-3 compounds. Each variant requires customized packaging to highlight the product's unique qualities.
Egg processing facilities typically use actuator- and motor-based automated systems to transport, sort, and grade eggs according to size, weight, and quality. The eggs are then transported to packing stations, where they are boxed and securely sealed. Each packing station requires precise and repeatable packing operations.
Application Notes
Egg processing machines are versatile, each equipped with its own motor or drive, for the large-scale cleaning, inspection, grading, and packaging of eggs. Efficiency is maximized by generating repeatable motions and avoiding damage to individual eggs.
Application Challenges
Multiple motors operate synchronously, providing high responsiveness and precise speed.
• Perform a stable and accurate rotation at a precise angle to flip the egg over.
• Sufficient holding force is required during the drag-and-drop process.
• It runs smoothly without vibration.
• High reliability is required, and the service life should exceed 20,000 hours.
Sports solutions
brushless DC motor
HKP brushless DC motors are available in a variety of sizes and configurations, with rated power up to 2,000W. Brushless motors require a controller to control speed and position.
Features
• Speed up to 15,000 RPM
• Slotted motors with skewed rotor magnetization can minimize cogging torque.
Slotless motors have higher power density and no cogging torque.
Ball bearings have a long service life.
Standard mounting frame
• Fully customizable to any requirements
Brushed DC motor
HKP's brushed DC motors are available in a variety of diameters, lengths, and winding configurations. These brushed motors require simple control and offer a long service life in low- to medium-load applications.
Features
• Speed up to 10,000 RPM
• Tilting the armature can almost eliminate cogging torque
• Sleeve bearings or ball bearings are available
• Copper graphite brushes or silver graphite brushes are available.
• Provides radio frequency interference suppression function
• Fully customizable to any requirements
The accessories are compatible with all motors.
· Spur gears and planetary gears
Optical encoders with resolutions ranging from 50 to over 8000 counts.
• Fail-safe brake
Gearbox with overload capacity
HKP offers spur gears and planetary gears to transmit motion and increase the output torque of the motor. When used in conjunction with HKP motors, gearboxes provide designers with greater flexibility for low-load and low-speed applications.
The eccentric output shaft of the spur gearbox, equipped with either sleeve bearings or ball bearings, is the preferred choice for low-load applications. The planetary gearbox provides a center output shaft for servo and continuous load power transmission applications. Optional lubricants are available for extreme temperatures.
encoder
HKP encoders are mounted on HKP motors to provide closed-loop feedback signals by tracking the speed and position of the motor shaft. A range of encoders is available to meet any customer requirement.
