What are the basic correct charging methods for lithium battery packs?

● The safe operating voltage range for lithium batteries is 2.8~4.2V. Below or above this range, the lithium ions in the battery become very unstable, potentially causing accidents. To ensure the battery operates within this safe range, a dedicated charger is required. These chargers automatically adjust the charging method based on the battery's current state.

● Before leaving the factory, lithium-ion batteries undergo activation and pre-charging, so they all have residual power. Lithium-ion batteries are charged according to the adjustment period, which requires 3 to 5 complete charge and discharge cycles.

● Please use original or reputable brand chargers. Lithium-ion battery packs must be charged with lithium-ion battery-specific chargers and the instructions must be followed. Otherwise, the batteries may be damaged or even dangerous.

●Besides being vulnerable to low battery levels, lithium-ion batteries are also susceptible to overheating, especially during charging. If your battery case has poor heat dissipation and gets hot during charging, it's best to remove the case while charging. For long-term storage of lithium-ion battery packs, charge them to 40% and then place them in the refrigerator, but never freeze them.

● Charge according to the standard time and procedure; when the machine displays a low battery warning, charge it as soon as possible.

The charging process of a lithium-ion battery pack can be divided into four stages: trickle charging (low-voltage pre-charging), constant current charging, constant voltage charging, and charging termination.

Phase 1: Trickle Charging. Trickle charging is used to pre-charge (recovery charge) the fully discharged lithium-ion battery pack cells. Trickle charging is used when the battery voltage is below about 3V. The trickle charging current is one-tenth of the constant current charging current, i.e., 0.1c.

Phase 2: Constant Current Charging. When the lithium-ion battery pack voltage rises above the trickle charging threshold, the charging current is increased for constant current charging. The constant current charging current is between 0.2C and 1.0C. The battery voltage gradually increases during the constant current charging process; typically, this voltage is set to 3.0-4.2V for a single cell.
