What are the methods for repairing lithium battery faults in electric vehicles?

1. The battery cannot be charged.

If the battery fails to charge, the following reasons may apply: the charger is connected incorrectly or the charger is faulty; the protection board has not reset or the protection board is faulty; or there is an external open circuit between the battery pack and the appliance.

When troubleshooting the above malfunctions, check the following in order: whether the charger is connected in reverse, whether the positive and negative terminals of the battery pack are connected in reverse; restart the appliance to disable the protection board, measure whether the MOSFET on the protection board has a drive voltage; check whether the wiring connections are loose or disconnected.

2. Short driving range

The battery pack is discharged very quickly during use. This can be caused by the following reasons: the lithium-ion batteries are not fully charged; there is a large difference in voltage and capacity among the individual cells; there is a micro-short circuit in the battery pack; or the battery pack has a large self-discharge, causing the battery pack to be completely depleted as soon as it is fully charged.

The above problems can be addressed by recharging the battery pack or replacing the faulty cells.

3. Solar panel softening fault

The key characteristic is that the surface of the positive electrode plate gradually softens from a solid state to a paste-like state. As the surface area decreases, the battery capacity decreases.

Repair method: After discharging to 10.5V, let the bulb discharge for 1-5 hours. Then use the activator to activate and repair it. This may allow for repair, but in severe cases, replacement is necessary.
