What points should be noted when using lithium batteries?

Although lithium-ion batteries do not have a memory effect, improper use can significantly shorten their lifespan. The following points should be noted when using lithium-ion batteries:

Do not use AC power when the battery is fully charged. A fully charged battery ages more quickly than a partially charged one. Using AC power while the battery is fully charged puts a significant strain on it and increases heat dissipation, further accelerating battery aging. Therefore, when temporarily using a laptop, once it is fully charged, it is best to use battery power first. Manufacturers recommend removing the battery when using AC power (however, if you remove the battery, be aware that unsaved data will be lost in the event of a power outage or cable disconnection).

Use power saving function

The number of charge and discharge cycles affects battery life. To minimize the number of charging cycles, you can utilize your laptop's power-saving features (dim the screen brightness and reduce CPU speed to decrease power consumption when using battery power). Similarly, it's best to fully discharge the battery before recharging it.

Complete discharge once every few months

Another tip is to completely discharge the battery every one or several months. The specific method is to use the battery until it reaches zero charge, then stop using it, connect the AC adapter, and then fully charge it without using the PC. Some PCs have a battery refresh function. If you find the battery is performing poorly, you can try using the battery refresh function.

When not in use for an extended period of time, unplug the AC adapter.

If the device will not be used for more than 8 hours, please unplug the AC adapter to avoid straining the battery. Additionally, if the device will not be used for more than a month, please remove the battery from the device and store it in a cool, dark place.
