Whether lithium-ion batteries are in use or not, the following points should be noted:
1) It is recommended to use the battery in a temperature range of +5℃ to +30℃ (preferably 25℃). High temperatures will shorten its lifespan, and low temperatures will reduce its capacity.
2) Batteries of different brands, capacities, and ages must not be mixed.
3) Hydrogen gas will be produced during battery use, so keep away from fire sources, ensure ventilation, and prevent explosion;
4) Please keep the environment clean, as excessive dust can cause the battery to short-circuit;
5) The battery should be recharged promptly after discharge. Discharging an uncharged battery will reduce its capacity or even damage it, so a suitable charger must be used.
6) If the UPS is underloaded (e.g., a 1KVA UPS carrying a 150VA load), it may cause deep battery discharge, which should be avoided as much as possible;
7) Proper discharge helps activate the battery. If the mains power is not interrupted for a long time, the battery should be manually discharged 2-4 times a year. The discharge can be done using the existing load, and the discharge time should be 1/4 to 1/3 of the backup time.
8) Batteries (UPS) that have been out of use for a long time should be charged before storage, and the batteries should be charged and discharged once every six months. Generally, the batteries should be float charged for about 4 to 10 hours and then operated in inverter mode for 2 to 3 minutes.
