1. Lithium-ion batteries should be charged and discharged promptly every day.
Charging daily according to the standard time and procedure is recommended. A single charge of a lithium-ion battery pack can last for 2 to 3 days, and daily charging will extend the lifespan of the electric vehicle's lithium-ion battery. This is because used lithium-ion batteries are in a shallow cycle state, and daily charging will extend their lifespan.
Performing a deep discharge periodically on a lithium-ion battery pack can also help "activate" the battery, slightly increasing its capacity. A common method is to periodically perform a complete discharge of the battery.
2. Use the original, compatible charger whenever possible.
Chargers from different manufacturers generally have specific requirements; do not change chargers arbitrarily without proper knowledge. The charger used must be perfectly compatible with the lithium-ion battery. Excessive charger current can damage the lithium-ion battery pack's protection system, causing a short circuit and potentially leading to a safety hazard. Insufficient charger voltage results in low charging efficiency and excessive charging time.
3. Maintenance environment for lithium-ion batteries
Lithium-ion battery packs should be stored in a cool, dry, and safe environment. Avoid placing lithium-ion batteries near heat sources, open flames, flammable and explosive gases or liquids, as this may cause leakage, overheating, smoke, fire, or explosion.
4. Temperature range
The storage temperature for lithium-ion battery packs is generally room temperature (25±5℃). Temperature affects the activity of lithium ions; the higher the temperature, the higher the activity. However, temperatures exceeding 60℃ may cause irreversible damage to the separator inside the battery, leading to battery failure.
