Correct usage of lithium-ion batteries
I. Correct charging method for lithium-ion batteries:
The safe operating voltage range for lithium-ion batteries is 2.5~4.2V. Below or above this range, the lithium ions in the battery become very unstable, potentially causing accidents. To ensure the battery operates within this safe range, a dedicated charger is required. These chargers automatically adjust the charging method based on the battery's current state.
II. Prevent over-release:
Lithium-ion batteries have no memory effect, so charge them whenever you want to use them. Don't wait until the battery is completely depleted before recharging. Try not to use the battery when the charge level is below 20%, and especially do not continue to use it when the charge level is below 5%.
III. Overcharging of lithium-ion batteries should be avoided:
It is best not to continue charging a lithium-ion battery after it is fully charged. Although most mobile phones now have overcharge protection, there may be cases where the battery is damaged or there is no overcharge protection. In such cases, continuing to charge the battery may cause it to overheat or even explode.
IV. Lithium-ion battery activation:
Before the charger starts charging, it supplies a small current to the battery while simultaneously detecting changes in battery voltage, and gradually increases the current until it reaches the set value. This process can be considered an activation or test charging.
V. Storage conditions for lithium-ion batteries:
The most critical storage conditions for lithium-ion batteries are temperature and humidity. Generally, room temperature has little impact on the state of lithium-ion batteries, but they should not be exposed to direct sunlight. High temperatures can easily cause model lithium-ion batteries to bulge or explode. Therefore, model lithium-ion batteries are usually stored in light-proof and airtight metal or plastic boxes.
Proper maintenance methods for lithium-ion batteries:
● The temperature must be suitable. The charging temperature of lithium-ion batteries is 0℃～45℃, and the discharging temperature is -20℃~60℃.
● It should be kept in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated environment, and should be protected from contact with corrosive substances, and kept away from fire and heat sources;
