Features of cylindrical lithium-ion batteries
① Cylindrical lithium-ion batteries have formed a series of internationally unified standard specifications and models, and the technology is relatively mature, making them suitable for large-scale continuous production.
② A cylinder has a large specific surface area and good heat dissipation.
③ Cylindrical lithium-ion batteries are generally sealed batteries, and there are no maintenance issues during use.
④ The lithium-ion battery casing has high pressure resistance and will not exhibit phenomena such as swelling as square or soft-pack batteries during use.
As the electric vehicle market expands and the demand for longer driving ranges increases, OEMs are placing higher demands on power lithium batteries in terms of energy density, manufacturing cost, cycle life, and added product attributes. Given the lack of significant breakthroughs in raw materials, appropriately increasing the volume of cylindrical batteries to achieve greater capacity has become a viable research direction.
How do you charge a cylindrical lithium-ion battery?
●Prevent charging at excessively high temperatures. If cylindrical lithium-ion batteries are used in environments exceeding the specified operating temperature (above 35°C), the battery capacity will continuously decrease, meaning the battery's power supply time will not be as long as usual. Charging the device at such temperatures will cause even greater damage to the battery.
●Prevent charging at excessively low temperatures. If lithium batteries are used in low-temperature environments, i.e., below 4C, the battery life will also be reduced. Some original lithium batteries in mobile phones may not even be able to charge in low-temperature environments.
● Lithium-ion batteries do not require special activation methods; they will activate naturally during normal use of the machine.
● Shallow discharge and shallow charge are more beneficial for lithium batteries. Deep discharge and deep charge are only necessary when the product's power module is calibrating the lithium battery.
